The Joy of Waiting

I'm done. I'm tired of trying to guess if this person or that person is the one for me. I know very well by now that this won't work if I am trying to be in control of it. Trying to make my own love story will never work. It's  time to stop the guessing game and start living my life. To live my life the way God wanted me to live. To be the woman God wants me to be. A woman who is of reverent behavior (Titus 2:3), careful of her speech, and teacher of good things. A woman who uses her power to influence people for the better. Many times have been already wasted doing trial and error and try to be God. I've made this decision a long time ago but trust me it's also a decision one has to face each day. We need to ask God for grace to help us overcome going back to trying to "looking for the right person" and instead "be the right person".

Let God fulfill His promise to give you His best and be occupied fulfilling your purpose as a man or woman. Then as time goes by you'll be surprised that you've achieved a lot of meaningful things. You will rejoice for the fact  that you chose to follow God; and make a difference in the years of waiting for the person God has prepared for you, instead of wasting time thinking who it will be. Then when you finally meet the person you can say that you have been faithful to the one you were made for.

That my friend is the joy of waiting!

Do you love me? Show Me

 I love you. Three words that form a phrase of great importance to most of us if not all. This phrase have been used for ages from generation to generation as a declaration of the person to another of great value. But in the generation today I have seen how this phrase's value has been taken for granted. Many times it has been said by various people in various places without meaning it. I've been thinking it myself how many times I've said, I love you to anybody without really meaning it? Reflecting on it, those were the moments I regret doing. I want to make sure that whenever I tell someone I love you that it really comes from my heart.  Not only was this phrase taken for granted by just using it without meaning it. Many times we also keep saying we love people but we never take the effort to show them we love them. The best expression of love we could ever do is by our actions. If we love someone our every action must show it.

How then can we show them? Sometimes it's not about how much money you spent on someone by buying them gifts or chocolates. Sometimes it's just making time to be with them and listen to their stories no matter how much you want to do the talking. Sometimes it's doing little things that could lessen their burden or something thoughtful like making them a cup of coffee or fixing their bed for them. Every time you have to show them your protecting them by protecting your future together. You can protect your future by deciding for both of you (if you are couples) by preserving sex for marriage--that is protecting your future family too. You protect your love by showing them you can wait for the right time. For some you can even try to make them smile by your funny jokes or showing funny characters. You can show someone you love him or her by going out of your comfortable way to make them feel your love. This time show them that you really meant that I love you. What you do for someone will not be forgotten instead cherished forever. They may not show their appreciation right away but you never know what impact and joy it will bring in their hearts.


Of course I do not want you to keep yourself from saying I love you but make sure you really mean it this time.

Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Jesus because He wanted to put an emphasis
on what it requires to really love someone--genuinely.

The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
   Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said, “Feed my sheep”-John 21:7

Jesus seemed to be saying, "Do you love me? Show me" by taking care of my sheep and by feeding my sheep.
